International Real Estate Partners (IREP) moves to larger premises in Chennai
Meet Cheron, Global Communications Manager, IREP’s latest addition to the team

Following the launch of IREP’s internship programme, we are happy to announce that we have recently recruited our second intern, Sam Burgess, who will be at our European office in Girona, Spain. Sam is a Global Supply and Bid Management Intern and will be working closely with IREP’s head of Sales & Marketing, Fiona Feldermann, as well as our global sales teams.

Our internship programme gives young people a chance to flourish in a competitive, fast-paced and dynamic working environment and we are proud we can help young students build a career. As we are constantly growing there is a rising need for new talent within IREP that can bring new ideas and enthusiasm.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m currently studying a joint honours degree in International Management and Spanish at the University of Bath. Having just finished my second year of studies, my third year is a year in industry to gain some valuable experience and develop my language skills.

Why did you choose IREP for your internship?

The internship offered by IREP was the perfect match for me. Having taken optional university modules in accounting and operations management, along with my background in economics, I enjoy finding practical and logical solutions to any issue that may arise. During my first year of university, I also became extremely interested in property investment and the opportunities that are available in both the residential and commercial property markets.

IREP itself was a massive positive too – the growth shown by the company over its short time in operation is proof of the potential that it has and the determination of the people within to drive success.

With IREP, I can combine these interests into a role that gives me opportunities to apply my methodology to a fascinating market from within a rapidly advancing company. From a career standpoint, no other internship offered me opportunities that could be as beneficial to my future as this one does.

What are you hoping to gain from your internship?

I’m really hoping to gain experience in a range of fields and job titles; I’ve already been exposed to sales, global supply, bid management and business development opportunities, and have been fortunate enough to gain this experience with some highly experienced colleagues. I’m looking to learn as much as possible from these experiences, whilst also applying my skills to the company and bringing a fresh point of view to the practices that are currently in place. The internship offers real opportunity for growth, so I’d like to build into my various roles whilst also implementing change to continue the rapid progression of this company, not only from my base in Europe, but globally too.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Outside of work, I’m an avid sports fan. I’ve played a number of sports to academy level, but my favourites are rugby and football, having played them both for over 15 years for teams such as Gloucester Rugby academy. I also love anything outdoors, so spend a lot of my holidays on road trips, camping out in the mountains and enjoying water sports like coasteering.

We’re looking forward to seeing Sam develop in this role and continue to learn and grow professionally and personally during his time with us at IREP. You can connect with Sam to stay up to date with his career journey via his LinkedIn.
